Houston-born, Miami-based DJ and producer Ape Drums made
his way onto the scene in 2014 with the release of "Bashment," a
dancehall inspired song that caught the attention of 3 time DMC world champion DJ
Craze, co-owner of Slow Roast Records. Following the success of "Bashment,"
Ape Drums was called upon to remix tracks by artists including AlunaGeorge,
Sean Paul, Yellowclaw and more. 2016 releases came through Interscope, Mad
Decent & Fools Gold, including collaborations with Major Lazer and Lil Uzi
Vert. His track "Mutant Brain" was tapped by director Spike Jonze to
be featured in his worldwide Kenzo campaign. 2017 saw the release of "Ghost"
on Spinnin' Records & his return to Mad Decent with single "Deva" featuring
dancehall veteran Suku.
2017 sees Ape Drums continuing to push the envelope by taking the role of label
head with the creation of VISION SOUND. Founded with his good friend DJ Silent
Addy, VISION SOUND are bridging the gap between dancehall and electronic music
with music that fuses the sounds of both genres. With recent plays at Ultra Music
Festival, ADE, Red Rocks & more be sure to keep your eye on Ape as he takes
